![]() What software did you use to retrieve the product key ?ĭid the original OEM Server 2003 come with a branded hardware (HP, Dell, IBM etc) or was it an unbranded hardware ? What brand of lappy are you using ? ![]() Yeah you should have moved off 2003 but if you still need it then just do it! than to do so from TIB (I am assuming the original has crashed and burned) the line between new hardware and a repair is rather blurry really, how many parts constitutes a new hardware? as the others have said it is perfectly ok to remove it pop on a hypervisor and put it back on same box. If your original hardware is still running then it is better to do a live convert to VMware (installs an agent on the original and writes direct to a VMware host) P2V it. Try to re activate it first then if that fails you may need to go for plan B or C. ![]() ![]() Ring the number and use your phone to answer the questions (it is a robot) it will ask some yes/no questions then for the long number in short parts then it will give you out another long number which you input and it should work. ( I doubt MS cares about 2003 anymore,legal/licencing caveats probably are dead now) It is asking this because the hardware has changed.
